Hydraulic Gear Pump Bushings
(DP31 Equivalent)
Are you facing flow erosion or cavitation issues in your hydraulic pumps? Our JBM-40 Series is designed to solve this — with the same dimensional specification as GGB DP31, shorter lead time, and full EU lead-free compliance.
Why Hydraulic Pump Bushings Fail
Hydraulic pumps operate under extreme conditions: high pressure, high speed, and aggressive fluid dynamics. Standard bushings degrade quickly. Here are the three failure modes we solve.
Cavitation Damage
Air bubbles collapse violently against bearing surfaces at pressures above 200 bar, creating microscopic craters (pitting). Over time, this destroys the bearing surface and causes catastrophic pump failure.
High-Pressure Wear
In gear pumps, the hydraulic fluid under pressure forces the gears against the bushing wall. At 250+ bar operating pressure, conventional bushings wear rapidly, increasing internal leakage and reducing volumetric efficiency.
Lead-Free Compliance
EU RoHS and REACH regulations are tightening restrictions on lead content. Many legacy hydraulic pump bushings contain lead-bronze alloys that will soon be non-compliant — creating supply chain risk for OEMs.
Need a DP31 Replacement Urgently?
We keep standard sizes in stock. Typical lead time: 2–3 weeks for custom dimensions.
Where Our Bushings Go
A typical gear pump has 4–6 bearing points. We supply both shaft bushings and thrust plates (floating side plates).
Solutions by Pump Type
Gear Pumps
External gear pumps use floating side plates and journal bushings under extreme hydraulic pressure. Cavitation and flow erosion are the primary failure modes.
- Best for floating plates — resists flow erosion
- Max PV 60 N/mm²·m/s (hydrodynamic)
- Optimized for high-pressure lubricated environments
- Anti-cavitation sintered bronze interlayer
- Temperature range: -195 °C to +280 °C
Piston & Vane Pumps
Axial and radial piston pumps, as well as vane pumps, require bushings with ultra-low start-up friction and high-speed shaft compatibility. Dry-start conditions are common.
- Low friction at start-up (µ from 0.03)
- Suitable for high-speed shafts up to 2 m/s dry
- PTFE transfer film forms instantly
- Max static load: 250 N/mm²
- Excellent chemical resistance to hydraulic fluids
High-Performance OEM
For new pump designs requiring maximum PV capability under both dry and lubricated conditions. Ideal for variable displacement pumps in mobile hydraulics.
- Max PV 60 N/mm²·m/s (hydrodynamic)
- Max speed >5 m/s in lubricated mode
- Enhanced PTFE formulation for extended life
- Suitable for variable displacement systems
- ISO 3547 / DIN 1494 compliant
